Matthew Marshall

As an undergrad student at the University of Leeds I learnt a lot about the importance of tribology and the vast amounts of work being undertaken at the University of Leeds to resolve tribological problems. Tribology encompasses many different disciplines which allows students the opportunity to work on projects which they have a real passion for. Hence the reason why I chose to pursue a career in tribology.

Being part of the CDT also gives you a great opportunity to work closely with industry as well as academics at the top of their field allowing students thus granting the best access to resources. The CDT also give students opportunities outside of the PhD to develop professionally through going to conferences, masterclasses, and fourth year modules. This allows students to build up a large amount of base knowledge before starting their PhD.
